PanaLobby guest at the Rectorate #24

PanaLobby – a student initiative that actively and positively intervenes in university life – shows in the exhibition “PanaLobby Zu Gast im Rektorat” artistic works of the currently active group members. PanaLobby sees itself as a kind of experimental field for thinking about university structures and people from different backgrounds at the same time and developing new platforms for encounters.

Exhibiting artists: Richard Cochran, Paula Godinez, Sophie Hilbert, Yuyen LinWoywod, Alejandra Montoya

Since 2015, PanaLobby has been working to promote the internationalization of the Kunsthochschule Kassel. The idea for the collaboration arose when Paula Godinez (Mexico City) and Yuyen Lin Woywod (Taipei), students of the art academy, exchanged views on the highly complex and complicated process that admission to study meant for them as international applicants. In 2018, PanaLobby organized and hosted the Welcome Breakfast for international students of the School of Art for the sixth time. In cooperation with Cigdem Özdemir, Johanna Schaffer and Kathi Seemann, the leaflet “Journey of the documents” and the brochure “Studying at the Kunsthochschule Kassel” were created. Information for international applicants.

PanaLobby was nominated for the Hessian University Award for Excellence in Teaching 2018.

The exhibition format “Guest at the rectorate“ was initiated in spring 2012. With two exhibitions per semester, the rectorate of the Kassel School of Art offers students, graduates* and teachers an extraordinary exhibition space for their work.
